Default PvE Weapon Mods choice

In PvE these days, more people use the elemental damage mods now for their extra damage against warriors rather than the old vamp.

Does it make sense to do the same in PvE? Did the armor on the warrior like AI enemies also get a nerf against elemental attacks?

And since you only have 80 against elementals now, does it make more sense use the +7 warding mod than the +30 HP mod?

I posted a thread just like this one. Trust me, no matter how many times you say 'I don't want a zealous', they say to get a zealous.

Hope when you put that in the url it works. Wow, just realised it makes itself a hyperlink.

Wow that thread was a waste of time.

If you want to be prepared, try to run a vamp, zealous, and elemental of every weapon type you plan to use. Vamps are for damage, and when energy isn't an issue. Zealous is your e-management. Elemental is for warriors, and as a weapon switch for the vamp/zeal when you aren't actively hitting something.

i suggest 2 elemental weapons ebon and icey, icey for grouping with Shivers necro, and ebon for wars + rangers, i havent yet seen a ranger armor that has +15 al vs earth, like frostbound, studded leather, and drakescale have with the other elements

@ marty, your gonna wanna use a zealous sooner or later, if your gonna play warrior much,

Rangers do however have +30 AL to all elements, so just use anything with slashing/piercing/blunt. As far as suffixes go, I don't see anyreason to switch off of fortitude.

You realize that hitting a ranger with an elemental weapon makes them a 100AL target, whereas hitting them with a normal weapon makes them a 70AL target?

A single elemental weapon is fine.

See what I mean?

Still don't want one... Bought myself a perfect Shocking Flamberge of Fortitude (15^50), and a perfect Fiery Rightious Maul of Fortitude (15^50). Cost 40k and my old Grognars Blade but it was worth it. Just waiting for someone to respond to my 'WTB Icy Sephis Axe of Fortitude' thread.

I know. I didn't really even end up getting what I was asking for anyway.

You should mod your weapon depending on your skill bars. If you are bringing in more than 2 energy based skills, zealous mod is definately is your friend here. Otherwise, I will go with Furious. While for the suffix mod, I usually go with +5 defense or 1+ Mastery. You can try it out with Razorstone - since I am an Axe user.

This works pretty well in PvE and you don't have to worry about weapon swapping. As a warrior, I swap my shield type more often than changing my weapon.
